Will Work For Food
A project about panhandling.
Over the course of six months I purchased over twenty signs from panhandlers working in downtown Seattle. I framed a selection of these signs. The second phase of this project consisted of creating new versions of the purchased panhandler signs. I hired several graphic designers to produce these revised editions. Once the signs were completed I traversed downtown Seattle distributing them. This project culminated in an exhibition at the Greg Kucera Gallery that showcased the original signs, their newly designed companion pieces and small text panels about my experiences acquiring and distributing the signs.
